BREEDING GROUND 2009
Breeding Ground: New Writing and Digital Media for South Australia’s most outstanding new writers and emerging media artistic investigators.
What is the way ahead for writers using new media tools? How does new media writing affect the way writers approach the making of texts? How does an audience read new media text? What are the advantages of online writing/? How do young writers collaborate with other art-forms? How does new media change writing practice?
No longer is literature bound by print, there are many opportunities for writers to experiment with new kinds of media, different voices and experimental platforms, both independently and in collaboration with other writers or other fields and disciplines.
Carclew plans to submerge our most exciting new writers and emerging media artist investigators in a specialist laboratory where they will engage in writing experimentation, generate creative energy and offer skill exchange as a way of building their own methods, theories and definitions that investigate notions of ‘innovation’ and ‘relevance’. Taking place in 2009 the Breeding Ground: New Writing and Digital Media project is interested in hearing from young word artists and writers who would like to become involved.
Breeding Ground 2009 will take place as part of Come Out 2009
25 – 29 May 2009, 10am - 4pm
