DVFM
D.V.F.M is an established model of youth arts activity that engages regional young people in an intensive and supported program of multi-art form practice. The D.V.F.M. project model offers a four-year engagement with regionally isolated young people wanting to build performance skills, advance their artistic talents & ambitions, and extend their social awareness. DVFM has been delivered by Carclew Youth Arts in partnership with Country Arts SA to diverse pockets of isolated young people throughout regional SA for over ten years. This track record has allowed us to develop, review and refine a model that is flexible and appropriate to meet the specific needs of host communities.
DVFM is currently in the second year of delivery working with young Aboriginal people in the Murray Bridge area.
DVFM Murray Bridge 2008 aims to creatively respond to the skills and interests of young Aboriginal people living in the Murray Bridge within a skills development and mentorship framework. Carclew Youth Arts will deliver DVFM Murray Bridge 2008, in partnership with Country Arts SA, Lower Murray Nunga’s Club and the Murray Bridge Rural City Council.
DVFM creatively protects the young participants by ensuring that they work alongside professional theatre directors, choreographers, film-makers and sound artists. These professionals are regarded not only for their creative arts practice but also for their demonstrated ability to engage young people in the making of original and dynamic group-devised performance. They also are selected for their professional capacities in facilitating skills development and mentoring in responsive ways. The employment and mentoring of emerging Indigenous artists is an integral part in DVFM working to achieve project outcomes.
DVFM Murray Bridge 2008 is scheduled to take place from July 2008
