Bio: This band of high school friends holds an impressive resume of successful gigs at some of Adelaide’s best live music venues, such as The Crown and Anchor, The Exeter and The Jade Monkey, as well as recording experience in Adelaide University’s renowned Studio 1.

Bio: Don’t let their youth fool you; Black Knight are bringing good old rock back to Adelaide with their energetic, entertaining performances. Bio: Proving that the metal scene isn’t just a boys club, Aura’s lead singer Kristy McCormick belts out emotionally fuelled ballads that overflow with attitude. The band’s mix of female driven vocals and insane metal rhythms have impressed audiences at The Crown and Anchor and Fowler's Live, and enabled them to record a 4-track demo at EMT studios.

Bio: Since forming and releasing their debut CD in 2005, Deafening Silence have enjoyed recognition both in their hometown of Adelaide and interstate. They released their second CD ‘Fear is a Mind Killer’ in March 2009, capturing a side of metal not heard before.

Their sound is a throwback to the glory days of rock and metal, inspired by the technical skills of Megadeth, the raw power of Metallica and the swagger and sleaze of Guns N Roses.

Bio: Formed in 2006, Give or Take have shared their fun, skankable blend of punk/ska tunes with audiences around Adelaide, supporting the likes of The Resignators, The Vaudevillians, Son of Dad and God God Dammit Dammit. Packing explosive punk rhythms and upbeat hornlines, Give or Take are defining their own sound in an age fuelled by auto-tune and synthesizers.

Bio: After falling in love on Myspace, Harry Whizkid and Pheebs Yeah Baby! combined their synthesizer powers to form Radio Spectacular!!! – an act which is often happy, angry, dark and cute all at the same time. Their home-made-Indie-Electro-Pop tracks have got people dancing at Jive, The Ed Castle and The Grace Emily, and their track ‘You Light Me Up’ is featured in the Canon Ixus commercial.

Bio: Hailing from Adelaide’s northern suburbs, Diesel Witch is the result of some well-placed advertisements. Formed in 2008, the band have played all around Adelaide, won Broadview Football Club’s Battle of the Bands and used their winnings to record their debut studio EP ‘Late Night Excursions and Hard Adventures’.

Bio: Born from pre-existing bands in early 2008 after a long and intimate courtship, Pimpin’ Horus have charmed audiences in both South Australia and Victoria with their infusion of old-school funk jacked up on rock. Along with a successful release of their EP (recorded in Adelaide and mastered in New York), the band have played booming shows at the Adelaide Unibar, the Crown and Anchor, the Jade Monkey, Jive and the Grace Emily.

Bio: Hailing from North Adelaide, Leah was born and raised in Kenya, where she developed a love for music and storytelling. Her lyrics tell of experiences lived rather than abstract ideals, and her beautiful melodies tell of the ups and downs of life, of growing up and of lessons learned. With sweet, calming vocals, colourful melodies and honest lyrics, Leah’s songs are journeys, starting at one position, thought, moment and ending with a resolution, a lesson or just the sense that tomorrow will be a better day.

Maxi Boy – No Gangsta, No Police

Bio: Maxiboy was born in Togo and is an exponent of French rap as well as being a singer, composer, painter, dancer and film maker. After living in Paris, he has settled in Adelaide, South Australia.

Bio: Drawing inspiration from such bands as Coldplay, John Butler Trio and Dave Matthews Band, Eyes Like Fire bring a brand of rich melodies and driving rhythm that will leave you wanting more. Playing for many a birthday party, a few fundraisers and fairs and a smattering of commercial gigs, Eyes Like Fire perform like seasoned professionals although they’re only just hatchlings.

Bio: Tessa D is an R’n’B, Soul, Gospel and Hip Hop singer/songwriter whose sound is influenced by the music of her childhood. A seasoned performer, Tessa and her dance crew have toured Japan, the United Kingdom and Australia, and collaborated with Sony BMG’s artist producer Israel to produce a combination of fat beats, soulful vocals and music that speaks about the journey of the heart.

Bio: Late 2007 saw the official union of Vida Sucia – Spanish for Dirty Life. Influenced by a unique breed of genres including reggae, dub, punk, ska and hip-hop, the trio have performed separately at The Gov, Adelaide Fringe Festival, the Royal Adelaide Show and Scorcherfest, and together at various Blackwood High School events including the Twilight Festival in 2006 and 2007, Cabaret Night 2008, Year 12 Graduation at the Adelaide Town Hall in 2008, and at many whole-school assemblies. Their lyrics vary from political, to visionary, to amusing and can make listeners think, or simply lay back to something melodically reviving.

Bio: Formed in mid 2007, Under the Lemon Tree consists of four energetic chaps from Adelaide, eager to rock some socks off! A bona fide rock band with a smidgen of pop, the boys have played successful gigs at the Jade Monkey, the Worldsend, the Rhino Room and the Norwood Food and Wine Festival, and came out on top in the Music Expo Adelaide Battle of the Bands in 2008.

Bio: From a lounge room in the Adelaide Hills comes Kicks Tornado, a young Indie/Rock four-piece who formed in 2007. With rock, chilled out and reggae influences, they’ve played support gigs at the Jade Monkey and Sunday Sessions at The Austral, received airplay on Radio Adelaide and most recently headlined a gig with fellow OTC-ers The Giveaways at Rocket Bar.

Bio: Gracewood are a young roots and blues outfit based in Adelaide. Since their formation in early 2006 they have explored the Adelaide gig circuit and experimented with unique sounds, earning them a reputation as one of SA’s exciting acts to watch and received high ratings on Triple J’s Unearthed website. They’ve featured in Triple J’s JMAG, supported Galleon (formerly Foreshore), the Sundance Kids and Avalon Drive, and headlined Living Loud in 2008.

Bio: The Secret Game is an Adelaide 3-piece who blend ballsey guitar rock, synthesizer keyboards and quirky lyrical themes and have recently launched their debut E.P. ‘Ayo! Let’s go!’ Since their inception in 2007, the band have performed low-key gigs in SA, Victoria and NT, as well as in front of an audience of 5,000 at Indonesia’s Global Warming Benefit Festival.

Bio: Enolas Secret are a 5-piece melodic alternative rock band, formed in early 2007 by a group of seasoned musicians with a long-term love affair for music and their loyal Adelaide following. Since hitting the stage in April 2007 they’ve supported international heavyweights The Used, Rise Against, Aiden, Boys Night Out and Four Year Strong, as well as Australia’s own The Getaway Plan, House vs Hurricane, The Funkoars and Forgiven Rival. They finished 2008 by recording their debut EP ‘Only We Can Save Us’ at Adelaide’s Capital Sound Studios, released in June this year through Amphead Music.

Bio: Sophie and Britt McKay blend acoustic guitar, bass and strong harmonies to create a unique sound that echoes the influences of The Waifs, Josh Pyke and Neil Young. As Nikai, the sisters have played at Marion Cultural Centre Youth Day, Reynella Youth Centre’s ‘Stage Against the Machine’, Brighton Secondary School and various sporting club fundraisers.

Bio: From humble beginnings busking in Brisbane’s Queen Street Mall, Rod Ladgrove now calls Adelaide home following stints in London and New York. Inspired heavily by the experiences and ‘aftermath’ of travel, his new songs with the Eastwoods work as ‘stories’ in the folk tradition, whilst still maintaining a contemporary edge. As a solo artist Rod has played at London’s acclaimed Virtual Acoustic Club and Notting Hill Gate, and enjoyed airplay of his 2007 album on Triple J and ABC stations across the nation. The band are currently building towards the release of a full-length album.

Kate Kowald – Sleep, Oh                                 3:46

Bio: Some people write, some people paint, and some people hula-hoop to express themselves; Kate Kowald uses mellow, acoustic music. Born and raised in the sleepy town of Adelaide, Kate began as a pianist, moved on to flute and bass, before finding her calling strumming away at a guitar. Taking a sphere of influences from artists such as Firekites, Eva Cassidy, world music and the like, Kate’s music voices her thoughts, struggles, happy times and quiet times. Rhythmic, soulful, emotive and catchy; her tunes are simply 'Kate'.

Behind These Walls – When It All Comes Back                    4:03

Bio: Behind These Walls formed in the second half of 2007, playing their first gig at the Jade Monkey as a 5-piece supported by Thomas Emilio who would later complete the band. Their narrative folk-rock sounds have been heard at the Jade Monkey, the Governor Hindmarsh, Rhino Room, Producers Bar, Live on Light Square, St Mark’s College and FADBAR, and won them second place in the Jim Beam National Battle of the Bands competition. Influenced by Bob Dylan, Violent Femmes, Editors and Lior, just to name a few, Behind These Walls’ distinct combination of horns and strings create a vivid and vibrant sound, perfectly complimenting their soulful lyrics.
